Monthly Hike for Pack 1855 – and we would like invite anyone from Troop 10 who is interested to join us.

Our monthly hike is on Saturday, May 13th at 10:00AM at Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary off Boncosky Road. We will meet at the shelter at 9:45AM.

How far are we hiking?? We will plan to hike 2.5 miles. Watch the weather – some of this hiking trail is mowed grass, so please wear something other than shoes. Winter boots work well if you don’t have hiking boots.

Where: Jelke Creek Bird Sanctuary
Date: Saturday, May 13th
When: Meet at 9:45AM in the Main Parking Lot Area

What to wear? – Watch the weather and dress appropriately, including appropriate footwear – dress to the temperature and the weather. If it’s sunny, be sure to wear sunscreen and/or a hat to shield you from sunburn.

Do I need to wear my Scout uniform? – Dress for the weather – uniform is optional. Class-B T-shirts are fine.

What to bring? – Start with the Cub Scout six essentials in a backpack: Flashlight, Water, Whistle, First Aid Kit, Sunscreen, and Trail Food. If your Scout wants to help lead the hike, bring a copy of the trail map. Older Scouts who have their Whittlin’ Chip card may bring their pocketknife, with parental permission. If it is damp or raining, carrying an extra pair of socks is a good idea.
